Artist’s Reception – Sandra Smith, photographer

Art Under the Spire is holding a reception in Reid Chapel to celebrate the art of Sandra Smith which is currently on display through September.
Sandra grew up in Columbia, Maryland, and attended the Baltimore School for the Arts majoring in Voice and French horn. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Studio Music & Jazz/Vocal from the University of Miami, and a Master of Arts in Arts Management from American University.
After careers in nonprofit arts management and information technology, Sandra has been Acquisition Project Manager at Pandora Jewelry the past seven years. She also has the privilege of serving as an alto section leader in the First & Franklin Sanctuary Choir under the direction of Jason Kissel, a position she has held for over 10 years.
Beginning with her mother’s Pentax Spotmatic SP1000 35mm camera, Sandra’s lifelong passion for photography has brought her much joy. The photos in this exhibit span the past 20 years and highlight her favorite subjects: flowers, Venice, and baseball. She is grateful to the First & Franklin Art Under the Spire Series Committee for this opportunity, and extends a heartfelt thanks to Jean Trout and Betty Schroll for bringing this show to life.
