Blessing of the Animals

We invite you, your friends, and our neighbors to a “Blessing of the Animals” service on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at 1:30 pm. in front of the church on Madison Street. This special service commemorates the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi. St. Francis loved and protected all of God’s creatures and is commonly regarded as the patron saint of animals.
Dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, ponies, chickens, and all great and small creatures are welcome! Animals should remain leashed or kenneled. All are invited to attend, with or without their animal companions. Stuffed animals are also welcome to be blessed, as are photographs of pets who would not find attending the event a blessed experience.
